What is Super Magic Force Wars?

Super Magic Force Wars is a fan fiction parody podcast (featuring an expansive legal disclaimer). It is a super-narrative that comedically interweaves many of the greatest characters and storylines of our time. It includes characters very much like those of the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Marvel Comics, and Star Wars. Every character in this story is or will become a dual character, combining the traits, attributes, and powers from two (or sometimes more) of some of the most popular characters from fantasy fiction and sci fi with a few pop culture icons thrown in for good measure.

Zero Income Pledge

This podcast is and will always be available for free. The podcast will never be monetized (no ads). I am doing this purely for fun, but above all: This is a work of love and admiration for our shared culture of heroes, the noble values they embody, and the hopeful visions they represent. Not only will I in no way financially profit from this project but I will foot the bill for all related podcast expenses.

Characters

SMFW will ultimately include over one hundred Dual-Soul characters and the bar for inclusion is fairly high (with only a few exceptions).  To be included, main characters must appear in two or more forms of media such as books (including comic books), television shows, or movies. There will be characters based on Harry, Ron, Hermione, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Gandalf, Elrond, just to name a few, but they will all be altered in some way as they blend with other characters and personalities.

Based on the Greatest Works of Our Time

For the most part, this fan fiction is intended audience is people who have some familiarity with the works I consider the Modern Fandom Canon: The works of J.R.R.Tolkien, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Disney Animation, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Marvel Comic’s X-Men. But there will also be many references to works beyond that beyond core those series—for example you can expect characters or concepts to show up from The Witcher, Game of Thrones, Transformers, G.I.Joe, The Pellinor Series, The Wheel of Time, Studio Ghibli movies and maybe even the Karate Kid saga. Please note none of the creators or rights holders of these works have endorsed this work (see full disclaimer here).

Episode Archive (Season One)

Most of our main group of heroes has gathered at the Great Conference of the Good. Harry is content to be basking in the glory of his new godfather, but his mate Ron Weasley is a bit preoccupied with what Hermione is up to. Harry also officially meets some Hobbits. This many heroes together can mean only one thing—a meal. Well, a meal and PIE!

In this episode I speedily dispense with the entire third book of Harry Potter and introduce Harry’s godfather. But which two characters have I combined to make him?

In this episode the Halfling Chosen One who is the esteemed guest of Rivendell wakes up from his perilous journey to find a kindly wizard waiting. But it’s not who you think.

In this episode, we begin the bromance between Harry’s godfather and the secret king of all Little Earth. These two esteemed warriors bond over some shared poetry…like you do.

In this episode we meet Arwen the love interest of Lan el Cadvan diAragorn and see the first hints of what character she is combined with. We learn about the Kingship of Little earth and who the first high king was. But more importantly, we learn about a dark and embarrassing secret that Lan el Cadvan diAragorn is hiding.

In this episode the remaining members of the Great Council of the Good arrive at Rivendell and the important discussion can finally begin. But one does not simply reveal the plot in simple terms.

Any feedback you have for me would be greatly appreciated! I may read some emails or answer some questions in the Production Notes section of the show! You can also use this form to request character inclusion (but really almost the whole thing is plotted so there is not all that much flexibility)
